Jharkhand accounts for 3.4% of the total forest
cover of the country and ranks 10th among all
states. Madhya Pradesh has the largest forest
cover accounting for almost 11.2% of the total
forest in the country followed by Arunachal
Pradesh (10.01%), Chhattisgarh (8.25%), Orissa
(7.15%) and Maharashtra (7%).
